Hannah's Favourites in 2020
You can say what you want about 2020, but I think we can all agree that the one thing we gained the most in the last 12 months was time. Time that gave us more time to speak to our friends & family, time that could give us some extra time in bed or time that could be put into us & taking care of ourselves. ‘Self-care’ can mean many things: exercise, meditating, healthy eating or a beauty regime. However you choose to spend your self-care time, it is ultimately about investing time back into yourself. My personal self-care beauty routine was spent trying to soothe, heal & balance my skin!
This list is a round up of my absolute favourite products that we have in our offer at J’adore bio which I discovered in 2020!
Algae Face Wash – By Mukk
‘Maskne’ quickly became one of the top skincare buzzwords in 2020!
By definition ‘maskne’ is unwanted blackheads, whiteheads & spots appearing in the portion of the face where we wear face masks. This face wash quickly became a favourite of mine as I noticed more and more imperfections appearing on my face. One of the most potent ingredients in this face wash and why I loved it so much was: white willow bark aka salicylic acid. White willow bark is a natural alternative to salicylic acid which reduces the chances of skin reactions. This face wash is formulated with white willow bark, algae & sea water to help create a acne fighting formula that also delivers hydration in order to rejuvenate and replenish the skins moisture.
This mask from Evolve is by far my stand out for the year! This 2 in 1 exfoliating mask smells exactly like chocolate cake when applying it plus it does some incredible things for your skin. It is formulated with raw cacao and clay as well as upcycled coconut particles to give the mask its exfoliating properties. The clay & cacao work together to purify the skin and the pores, resulting in radiant and balanced skin. It doesn’t stop there! Once this mask is emulsified with water is transforms from a rich mask into a luxurious milky cleanser that is super easy to remove!
PHA/BHA/AHA’s are groups of acids that are used to exfoliate and brighten the surface of the skin. Using chemical exfoliants will help to treat & reduce the appearance of breakouts as well as helping to reduce hyperpigmentation. The three groups all work differently and in their own fabulous way but a recent addition to our offer and one of my favourites is the PHA Toner from Skin & Tonic. Out of the three groups, PHA’s are much gentler on the skin so they are commonly suited for those with slightly sensitive or delicate skin.
My tip: Always use chemical exfoliants alongside other hydrating toners or serums as this will prevent the skin from drying out. I personally like to use chemical exfoliants and skin “treatments” in the evening as their active ingredients will have the whole night to work their magic while I use my morning skincare routine to protect & nourish my skin for the day ahead.

Rich in vitamin C, pumpkin & rosehip oil this facial oil is incredible to use in the mornings to bring some radiance to the skin. I am always on the hunt for products that are going to give my skin a glow all year round, and this oil is what I was looking for! The super lightweight texture & formula makes this perfect to use under makeup, as it quickly absorbs into the skin so it wont interfere with your makeup.
I typically use the oil directly before I apply moisturiser as this will lock in all the active ingredients to keep your skin protected but also radiant.
Hand Sanitiser – You & Oil
If you told me a year ago that a hand sanitiser would be one of my favourite products then I would have laughed in your face, but here we are! On an average day I would say that I am using hand sanitiser every 15 minutes, to protect myself but also others! So you can imagine how great my hands were looking through the year…
Dry, cracked hands just became a reality for me and for a while it seemed like nothing was going to solve it but I found that once I started to change the type of hand sanitiser I was using I started to see a change. High alcohol based sanitisers are essential for killing bacteria, germs & viruses however this high concentration of alcohol can quickly dry out and irritate your hands.
The You & Oil hand sanitiser blends an effective, virus fighting alcohol percentage with Aloe Vera & essential oils to ensure that your hands are being kept safe, clean and protected!

My stand out product of the year is by far the Plum Scrub from Ministerstwo! This revolutionary scrub combines the exfoliating properties of a traditional scrub and the hydrating and enriching properties of a body oil. The sugar based formula is incredibly gentle on the skin and is ideal for removing a build up of dead skin cells on the skin. This is also a fantastic product to use pre shaving because removing this build up will prevent uncomfortable, ingrown hairs. Plus, the 300g jar is going to keep your skin smooth & supple all the way into the summer!
