Tips for Glowing Skin this Christmas

Radiant and glowing skin is a big trend right now, and it may be the case for quite some time! Who doesn't want to have this moist, soft and healthy looking complexion?! "You're glowing!" - isn't it just the best compliment?! If you want to achieve that glow without the use of make-up by Christmas follow the tips below!

Beware - your friends & family might be a little jealous of your plum (which they will notice even if you will meet them only virtually!).

Beauty sleep

There is nothing better for your skin than a good night sleep! It may sound totally banal but ... it's the secret of all celebrities. A well-rested sleep is essential to a youthful, glowing skin. If you have trouble falling asleep, try to avoid watching TV & using your phone 30mins/1hour before going to bed, make sure your bedroom was well ventilated and spray lavender hydrosol on your pillows or use a relaxing aromatherapy blend.

Hydration

The key to naturally glowing skin is to hydrate it from inside & out! Drink plenty of water, eat abundance of fruits and vegetables and incorporate hyaluronic acid into your skincare routine!

What is hyaluronic acid?
Skincare superhero, hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring lubricant that keeps your joints intact and when applied on the skin, helps to improve its overall state. It holds up to 1000x its weight in water, which means it locks in the essential moisture making your skin hydrated and bouncy!

What we love about hyaluronic acid is that it works well for all skin types! Even if your skin is irritated, acneic, or you have no problems at all (lucky you!) - it will be your best friend.

Use it on top of your everyday moisturiser or directly on a damp skin. You will see the results immediately!

Exfoliation

Face peelings help remove the dead skin cells to reveal the fresh, radiant skin! Look for AHA/BHA peels for the most effective salon-like exfoliation. Use it twice a week and the day before you want to have an extra glowy skin.

Our favourite is Natural AHA Peeling from Make Me Bio

Not a fan of peelings? What if we told you that you can achieve the same result thanks to a face mask - and who doesn't love face masks?! Its name speaks for itself - Radiant Glow Face Mask. TA-DA. The must-have for glow-lovers, it has coconut particles to gently remove dead skin cells as well as raw cacao powder and clay to purify and revitalise the skin.

Vitamin A

Christmas countdown is on and vitamin A is your secret weapon to this beautiful, healthy glow! Vitamin A is a powerful antioxidant which fights free radicals and promotes the growth of new healthy skin cells. Eat lots of vegetables that contain provitamin A (beta-carotene) like carrots, sweet potato, squash (it's the season!) and incorporate vitamin-rich products to your skincare routine. Have you ever heard of retinol? Well, it's exactly vitamin A!

We love using overnight face serums with vitamin A-rich ingredients, such as prickly pear or rosehip oil. Our favourite these days is La Parfaite from Ernest Ernest. It works beyond the skin surface and gives amazing results!

Face massage

Oh yes, a little self-love can do wonders for your skin & soul! Massaging your face boosts the blood circulation and removes toxins, giving it a radiant look. It is also so pleasantly relaxing, so it makes you glow from the inside too.

There are lots of face massage techniques, but the most important tips are to always clean your hands before doing it, apply an oil or serum (preferably rich in vitamin A!), massage from the inside of the face out and always in the upward direction.

You can use your hands or one of the beautiful crystal tools we have in our offer. Discover them all here.

Glow from the inside out

If you think your skin might need a little more than what we already mentioned, supplements might be your saviour! Ogaenics developed a scientifically proven formula containing only organic and natural ingredients, "for ultimate glowgetters".

They nourish the skin with the unsaturated fatty acids Omega 3, 6, 7 and 9 along with vitamin A and vitamin E. Everything your skin needs to be moist, soft & dreamy - Oilalala!

Wishing you lots of glow this Christmas :)!
