Ingredients policy

Our strict ingredients policy is what makes J'adore bio different. Every product we offer is checked against our criteria to ensure it is produced in a sustainable way free from toxins, pollutants and animal cruelty. We work closely with brands we offer to understand how they produce their products and where they source their ingredients from.

How we select our products?

To help you make the best choice when shopping at J’adore bio, we provide you with the complete ingredients lists for each product so you know exactly what is inside. Also, we have created 5 stamps - vegan, alcohol free, 100% natural, organic and hand made to facilitate your choice in our shop. Here are the criteria for all our stamps:

Vegan - these products do not contain any animal ingredients or animal derived ingredients. This includes, but is not limited to, honey, beeswax, lanolin, collagen, albumen, carmine, cholesterol, gelatin, and many others. It also means that a product is free from animal testing - but in fact all products on our website are!

Alcohol free - this stamp guarantees that product doesn't contain Ethanol/Ethyl Alcohol, Denatured Alcohol, Methanol, Benzyl Alcohol, Isopropyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Decyl Alcohol, Mirystyl Alcohol, Palm Alcohol, Lauryl Alcohol, Oleyl Alcohol, Isostearyl Alcohol.

Not all of them are bad - they are used as preservatives and have anti-inflammatory or deodorizing effect, but some of them can dry out or irritate sensitive skin so people with this skin type should look for this label!

100% natural - this is a very strict stamp certifying that all ingredients are pure natural and plant-based and have gone through a very simple transformation (such as cold pressing seeds to extract their oils).

Organic - these cosmetics have one of the internationally recognised certification: ECOCERT, BDIH, Soil Association, COSMOS, NATRUE, COSMEBIO. They all have different criteria that must be met in order for a product to be organically certified and usually define % of organic ingredients in a product (usually 95%). Not all of our brands are certified organic as it is still expensive, especially for smaller brands, but they all develop their products using the purest natural and organic ingredients!

Hand made - Who doesn't love handmade products? We certainly do - made by hand, rather than a machine, these cosmetics are luxurious, effective and beautifully packaged!

Ingredients we avoid

We have researched hundreds of ingredients used in cosmetics today and created a list of harmful chemicals that we don’t accept in products offered in our boutique.

Dangerous ingredients in cosmetics

The list is not exhaustive and we keep updating it as we analyse cosmetics.

If you have any questions on our ingredients policy or selection process we will be happy to answer them on Facebook, Instagram or via email.
