RMS Beauty: Rose-Marie Swift’s cream make-up
Founded in 2009 by make-up artist Rose-Marie Swift, RMS Beauty makes cream make-up designed to be applied with the fingers. The formulas are based on plant oils and butters, mineral pigments and skincare ingredients such as plant-derived squalane, niacinamide, peptides and Kakadu plum. The range covers complexion, cheeks, eyes, lips, face and body care, and brushes.
Complexion: concealers, SPF tints and foundation
The UnCover-Up is a cream concealer with mineral pigments that also works as a light foundation. Rose-Marie Swift used it backstage to even out the complexion without masking the skin. The Revitalize Hydra Concealer, the brand’s best-seller with us, gives buildable coverage with a satin finish and hydrates for eight hours.
The SunCoverup Super Tint SPF 50 is a silicone-free tinted moisturiser with mineral protection from non-nano zinc oxide, in 13 shades. It contains the GlowPlex™ complex, plant-derived squalane and bisabolol. Lighter still, the SuperNatural Radiance Serum Broad Spectrum SPF 30 combines non-nano zinc oxide, peptides and niacinamide. The ReEvolve Natural Finish Liquid Foundation gives medium, buildable coverage that lasts 12 hours.
To prep and set, the ReEvolve Radiance Locking Primer is a silicone-free primer with Tightenyl™, squalane and hyaluronic acid, in refillable packaging. The Hydra Setting Powder is a talc-free loose powder in three shades, with squalane, buriti oil and jojoba oil. The Radiance Lock Setting Mist is an alcohol-free setting spray made with 97% natural ingredients. For the eye area, the ReFresh Eye Brightener SPF 30 combines GlowPlex™, Tightenyl™ and mineral protection.
Cheeks and glow
The Luminizer is a glitter-free cream highlighter with coconut and castor oils, for eyelids, lips, cheekbones and body. The Lip2Cheek colours lips and cheeks; its mineral pigments are blended with buriti oil and shea butter.
In powder, the ReDimension Hydra Powder Blush and the ReDimension Hydra Bronzer are based on a sugar-derived wet powder and buriti oil. The blush comes in a refillable compact. In cream, the Buriti Bronzer combines shea butter and cocoa butter. On deep skin tones it also works as a highlighter.
Eyes
The Eyelights are cream eyeshadows with a luminous finish, made with green tea extract and quinoa peptides, that last 8 hours. They also come in a matte finish, the Cashmere Matte Eyelights. The ReDimension Hydra Eyes Quartet palette brings together four talc-free powder shades and is ophthalmologist-tested.
The Straight Up Volumizing Peptide Mascara combines minerals and plant waxes. It lasts 12 hours and suits sensitive eyes. The Straight Line Kohl Eye Pencil has a foam tip for smudging. For brows, the Back2Brow Powder contains cocoa butter.
Lips
In the Legendary Serum Lipstick, most of the water is replaced with bitter cherry fruit water, with Kakadu plum extract, for a velvety satin finish. The Legendary Lip Oil combines colour, care and shine without stickiness. The Liplights Cream Lip Gloss contains plumping peptides. The Lip Pencil lasts 8 hours, is water-resistant and has a built-in brush. At night, the Lipnights Overnight Lip Mask hydrates for 24 hours.
Kakadu plum skincare
Kakadu plum, which the brand describes as the richest natural source of vitamin C, is at the heart of the skincare line. The Kakadu Beauty Oil preps the skin for make-up. The fragrance-free Kakadu Luxe Cream combines Kakadu plum with GlowPlex™ (niacinamide, quinoa and pea peptides). The SuperSerum Hydrating Mist is a bi-phase mist with sea water and buriti oil.
To cleanse, the Coconut Clean Cleansing Balm is made with cold-centrifuged coconut oil, and the Kakadu Clean Cleansing Gel uses surfactants derived from apple and babassu oil. For the body: the Kakadu Body Butter.
Brushes
The Skin2Skin brushes are designed to mimic fingertip application, from the Skin2Skin Foundation Brush to the Skin2Skin Concealer Brush. The Skin2Skin Beauty Sponge is latex-free.
A five-step complexion routine
- Prep the skin with a few drops of Kakadu Beauty Oil.
- Even out the skin with the SunCoverup Super Tint SPF 50, using your fingers or the Skin2Skin Foundation Brush.
- Cover dark circles with the Revitalize Hydra Concealer and small areas with the UnCover-Up.
- Add colour to the cheeks with the Lip2Cheek, then dab the Luminizer on the cheekbones.
- Set the T-zone with the Hydra Setting Powder.
