Gucci Westman, a make-up artist's career
Known for creating natural looks and more elaborate make-up with equal skill, Gucci Westman has worked on shows for Nina Ricci, Bill Blass and Vera Wang. Her name is also associated with "no-makeup make-up", which enhances the skin without being seen.
In 2003 she became international artistic director at Lancôme. In 2008 she joined Revlon in the same role and, until 2015, contributed to new product development and the brand's trend collections. She lives in New York with her husband, David Neville, co-founder of the fashion label Rag & Bone, and their three children.
Westman Atelier, her brand
After years of making up celebrities such as Natalie Portman, Cameron Diaz and Gwyneth Paltrow, she launched Westman Atelier in 2018. The complexion products are designed to work together and combine pigments with skincare actives, for a natural, precise result that can be built up for the evening.
In an interview with W Magazine, she explains that she has always been interested in bringing skincare and make-up together, and that she wanted to create safe products focused on effective active ingredients.
The aim of Westman Atelier: to enhance the skin with a light touch, so that it simply looks fresher and more luminous. Her go-to skincare product is the Skin Activator, formulated with 12 actives to soften the look of fine lines, firm and hydrate the skin.
